Musica:

MÚSICA Y ASTRONOMÍA.

Hace unos meses vi un artículo en una revista de Astronomía sobre este tema, pero para mi gusto no tocó la parte relativa al Metal; nombró muchos grupos y temas pero a los que nos gusta "el ruido" nos dejó con las ganas.

Aquí os presento mi contribución.

A veces solo es el nombre de un grupo, otras el título de una canción, las menos una letra entera de una canción. A veces lo usan metafóricamente, otras textual.

Sin duda el CD más relacionado que he encontrado es:

"How to meausure a Planet", de The Gathering. El tipo de música es bastante tranquilo, ellos lo llaman: "Trip Pop", es muy relajante y la voz de su vocal, Anneke, es perfecta. ¿se nota que es mi grupo favorito?

Lo que se ve en la portada es la parte inferior del propulsor de un cohete. En la contraportada aparecen varios astronautas.

Dentro, en la primera doble página encontramos el cohete visto desde arriba, ¿modelo Titán, Saturno o quizás es ruso?

En la siguiente doble: una pequeña foto de un astronauta (o una) y parte de lo que parece ser un módulo.

En la siguiente la foto de un aterrizaje una cápsula y unas minifotos de un avión, de una cápsula llamada "Liberty Bell" y de un cosmonauta ruso.

A continuación viene la fórmula para calcular el radio dela Tierra y una pequeña explicación y un dibujito.

En la última hoja hay otra foto de un cohete y de un par de diseños de trajes espaciales, pero de cuando se empezaba.

Los títulos de las canciones son tan sugerentes como: "Liberty Bell", "Red is a slow colour" "Travel"....

Igual de importante es el CD: "Eppur si muove.." de Haggard. El tipo de música es bastante complejo de definir: hay un grupo con voz gutural (ronca) y colabora un coro, que al final hace que en escena haya unos 28 músicos: Sopranos, Tenores, violines, órgano, viola, oboe, clarinete.... En fin un reto para los sentidos: cantan en latín, alemán, inglés e italiano. El CD es como una obra separada en varías piezas.

Os sonará la frase, del famoso Galileo Galilei durante su proceso por parte de la Iglesia, cuando renuncia a sus ideas revolucionarias por aquel entonces, pero se dice que en voz baja agregó: "Eppur si muove"' Y sin embargo se mueve.

Como veis, la portada ya es bastante explícita. La contraportada interna es el famoso dibujo medieval de un hombre asomándose fuera de las esfera celeste y viendo que hay más allá..

El libreto comienza con una breve biografía de Galileo. En una página interior hay una foto de un astrolabio, en otras, dibujos delas fases de la luna, un dibujo de una esfera armilar. Los cd´s están bonitamente serigrafiados. Títulos de canciones: " Per Aspera Ad Astra", "The Observer", Eppur si Muove".

Podemos continuar con Covenant (Ahora The Kovenant) y su CD "Nexus Polaris"

Una bonita portada, un título celestial y una música tipo Black Metal melódico.

Letras ya más fantasiosas para títulos como: "Planetarium", Planetary Black Elements"

Otro de sus CD se titula: "SETI", también muy relacionado con la Astronomía: la búsqueda de vida inteligente fuera de nuestro planeta. Proyecto creado si no me equivoco por Carl Sagan. La música es más alternativa y con toques de industrial.

Títulos como "Star by Star" "Stillborn Universe"

Las letras van por otros derroteros.

También Therion tiene un poco de Astronomía en su CD: "Sirius B", portada de fantasía.

Hoy se sabe que Sirio tiene una pequeña compañera, esta Sirio B, y creo que por ahí comentan que podría haber incluso una Sirio C por encontrar.

Títulos: "Son of the Sun", relacionada con el Antiguo Egipto, donde el Faraón era Hijo del Dios Sol, "Call of Dagon", relacionada con los Mitos de Chulthu, de H.P. Lovecraff y sus horrores de más allá de las estrellas.

Otros pequeños ejemplos son:

Arch Enemy con sus canciones: "Cosmic Retribution", "Night Falls Fast".

Amorphis con sus CD´s: "Am Universum", "Far from the Sun" y "Eclipse" y la canción "Brother Moon" de este último.

The Blood Divine, con "Aureole".

Mortiis, con"Stargate".

In Flames con "Satellites and Astronauts" y "Dialogue with the Stars"

Moonspell con "Luna" y "Full Moon Madness". O el CD: "Great Silver Eye"

También Octavia Sperati con "Moonlit"

Y Metallica cuando todavía era Metallica con: "Orion"

Seguramente cada uno tendrá sus gustos musicales y sabrá donde encontrar referencias astronómicas.

En mi caso me habré dejado muchas en el tintero, habrá gente a la que no le guste está música, pero la intención es ver hasta donde llega la Astronomía y sus temas asociados en este mundo musical. Espero que por lo menos os haya entretenido y tal vez alguno trate de comprobar por si mismo a que suenan estos grupos y a ver sus libretos.
